Big Agnes

The Mother of Comfort Meets the King of the Road

Big Agnes is the Mother of Comfort, and she's ready to treat you like the King of the Road. Take her along on your next trip and she'll give you a whole new outlook on motorcycle camping. Campgrounds will start looking more attractive than hotels, and bedding down for the night won't be an ordeal to endure but a pleasure to enjoy. You might very well go from being a rider who camps as a last resort to being a rider whose first choice is to camp. It all starts by ditching your old bag to sleep with Big Agnes.

Beat the System? Not This One!

What makes sleeping with Big Agnes so different? The Sleeve. With other sleeping bags, you're always sliding off your sleeping pad. If you've camped much, you know all about that. Plus, the underside insulation compresses under your body and loses its ability to insulate, which means you have the weight, bulk and expense of wasted insulation while still needing a ground pad for warmth and cushioning. Big Agnes solved all that by putting a sleeve in the underside of their bags. Slide your sleeping pad into the sleeve and you'll never slide off your pad again. And because the pad can do all the cushioning and insulating, Big Agnes was able to eliminate all the wasted underside insulation!

Benefits of the Big Agnes system include weight savings, reduced packed size, increased girth and comfort, and the ability to roll and twist without rolling off your pad. You're never half on, half off the sleeping pad. The pad is always right where it belongs: directly under you.

Getting a good night's sleep makes a world of difference. After all, the quality of your night influences the quality of your day. Waking up cold and aching on the floor of your tent is no way to recover from a 700 mile day, and no way to prepare for one, either, so ditch the old bag, sleep with Big Agnes. It's a system that can't be beat.

Rest Easy, Mama

Big Agnes also manufactures a full line of inflatable and self-inflating sleeping pads. The company's inflatable pads dominate that sector of the market for good reason: they pack down to less than half the size of self-inflating pads, weigh about 1/3 less, and at 2½" provide significantly more cushioning than most. These aren't kiddy pool air mattresses but high-tech comfort devices. Big Agnes' Insulated Air Core pads received Backpacker magazine's coveted Editor's Choice award in 2004, and not to be outdone, their semi self-inflating Dual Core pads got the same honor in 2006 from CampingLife's editors.

"Come in," she said, "I'll give you, shelter from the storm"

Whether you need shelter from the storm or simply from insects and the cool night air, Big Agnes tents provide it. Lightweight, small-packing, insect stopping, waterproof, wind worthy tents that set up in minutes - that's what Big Agnes tents are all about.

In 2006, in an effort to identify the best 2-person, 3-season, double-wall tent on the market, the folks at Backpacker magazine took the industry's top 12 tents and subjected them to 165 nights of rigorous testing in a variety of weather conditions, including heavy rain and high winds. The results were published in the December 2006 issue of Backpacker. Four tents survived the testing, and of those four, top honors went to none other than Big Agnes' Parkview 2 - one of the two tents Full Throttle Camping describes as "the perfect tents for motorcycle camping"!
